Creativity Explodes on Chatroulette

I'm sure that (if you are on YouTube) you have seen someone do something crazy on this newly found website Chatroulette.com. It all started with PianoChatImprov: the totally original YouTube channel with "Merton", the really gifted piano player. The idea is to play random songs to random people. It is hilarious and many many different people picked up on the idea and have made their own versions of Chatroulette hilarity!

Here is the first video then some spin-offs...

Original Video: (beware of curses)

Some spin offs:

(this one isn't very clean)

Add More Music to your iPod / iPhone

With Apple's new release of the iTunes update, anyone who owns an iPod / iPhone can now (during a sync) lower the quality of their songs to 128kbps in order to lessen their file size. To the listener, the quality isn't much different, however, the file size will almost take up half the space! The one cool thing that I liked about this was the fact that is it doesn't change your original files, the just ones syncing to the iPod. There's really nothing to loose, so go download the new version of iTunes (that was released today) and try out this new feature!

Chris Pirillo shared this on a blog post today. He explained how to enable it, "Install the update and begin your sync. Make sure to check “Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC” when you plug in your device. The sync will take longer than usual, because the application will need to convert all of the media to the new specification. You will be rewarded for the wait, though. Your iPhone or iPod will now be able to hold up to twice as many individual tracks as before."

Battalion Touch CZ-11

iBUYPOWER just released a new gaming laptop and, if it wasn't for the price, I'd be drooling all over it. Its the Battalion Touch CZ-11. As the name suggests, this is a touchscreen laptop. And on top of that, the computer features a Core i7 Processor, 4GB Memory, 500GB HDD, dedicated memory, and (get this) a full HD display (1920 x 1080) all with multitouch technology! The price starts at $1100 and rises from there.

Tumblr

I caved yet again.

After seeing Tumblr everywhere, I decided to get one. All my sites are synced to it!

You can see my blog there by clicking here!

Formspring.me

Last night, while browsing a bit, I found an interesting website called Formspring. Basically, its a website where you can ask anyone… anything (anonymously or not). I had heard of it before, but never really took the time to check it out. So, I created an account, and want to keep it. So, if you are interested in asking me any sort of question, just check out my profile by clicking here.

Windows Live Writer

Well, I’ve officially made the jump back to using Windows Live Writer. I’m not sure how long I will keep up writing here, but I will try it out for the time being. If you haven’t heard of Windows Live Writer, you should check it out. Its an application that easily updates your blog for you. Honestly, it makes things much simpler.

Revolutionary MSI Netbook

I'm not sure if you've been following the news recently, however the new MSI Wind netbook that was just released is almost revolutionary. Its got the standard netbook specs: Intel atom, 10.1" screen, costs around $350. However, this netbook has something that no other netbooks on the market has! An (advertised) 15 hour battery. When I read that, I was like "NO WAY" that was, until I read Dvice's thoughts on the topic, "With our constant use, that didn't seem possible unless we kept the screen dimmed way down and let it sleep most of the time, but we did get a good 7 to 8 hours' worth of use before the battery fizzled. Even though that's less time than advertised, it's remarkable — long enough to get a day's work done."

All in all, this device is almost revolutionary. And if you are still interested in it and want to read more, you can find the original article here.

iPad Camera

As soon as the iPad was released, people all around the world were fuming about the lack of a camera or SD card reader in the iPad. Finally, Apple released a solution (even though it is a crummy one).

The USB and SD card plug-ins for the iPad. Priced at around $29, this solution seems "helpful"? Nevertheless, as Engadet puts it, "Of course, one could easily argue that the iPad should have native support for both of these widely used formats without forcing users to lug around two extra peripherals, but if that were the case, this thing just wouldn't be an Apple, now would it?"

You can purchase your own here.

(Candy Laptops) This Week in Tech News - 3.27.10

Well, my first episode of This Week in Tech News is finally out and, yes, it isn't very impressive. I hope to get better as time goes on and next week (if I'm not sick), the episode should be much better. Nonetheless, through the show I covered three interesting topics: the PlayStation Move, the new Sony Vaio E Series, and the Samsung n150s.

I embedded the video below. I hope you like it! Feel free to rate comment and subscribe to LordRehan!

Thank you for watching!

Appreciation

Tonight I spent my night doing something I thought I'd never enjoy... going to the symphony. As I sat there,
I realized that I was going to graduate really soon and that would be the last time I would be there. As I continued thinking, I came upon a sudden realization: I stress too much.

I decided that (from that moment on) I was not going to overlook the finer things in life. I decided that, no matter how bleak, I'd make it my goal to see the "silver lining".

This was such a great realization that I hoped to share it with you. Life is too short to stress about. We need to appreciate the finer things in life.  :)

Tech Videos

If you read this blog regularly, you should know that I often embed tech related videos into my posts. Just recently, I decided that I wanted to share a link with you all however (at the time) I wasn't up for making a blog post. At that moment, the idea came to me to create a specific webpage where I post tech related videos and real quick summaries of them.

The new website is LordRehanVids. If you follow me on Twitter, you should see random links to videos from there. I just did a redesign of the page layout. It looks much better.

Check it out!

3D Television

Well, 3D television is finally here. Today, the first Samsung rechargeable 3D glasses went up for pre-order on Amazon. Starting at around $150, you can watch television in fashion with these babies. ;)

How to Make Money on the Internet

Even though I don't consider myself an expert in these things, I decided to write a Squidoo lens on the topic of making money on the internet. Who knows? It may get popular!

I plan to outline three main points; Create, Promote, Maintain. These there points will be shown in detail and will hopefully show one of the readers my exact way of making money on the internet.

When it is finished, I will post a link up on my blog or my Twitter account.

Sony Vaio E Series

Well, I just recently saw a picture of the new Sony Vaio line and BOY! am I impressed with the looks they brought forth! Not only are the Sony Vaio computers great computers when it comes to quality and durability, now Sony has expanded their arm of market reach to a whole new set of customers. I know the prices of the Vaios are the best (over $800 for a Core i3), their quality is sure to last you (and now) you'll be stylish as well.

Our Current Situation

Alright guys, I know this isn't tech related, nevertheless, I wanted to share this video with you. No matter who you are: democrat or republican, this video should make you a little scared.

FYI, I agree with all the things this man said. We need to take the steps he is laying out as soon as Obama leaves office.

Here's the video:

Computer Microphones?

Well, I have come to a very sad realization. The realization that, unless I can find a better computer microphone, I will probably not be able to make a screencast for Chris Pirillo. On top of that, I am broke. I will be saving in hopes that I can get a nice microphone, however, in the meantime, I need ideas and suggestions.

Do you guys know of any cheap, effective microphones? If so, please contact me.

My Thoughts on the Acer Ferrari One

When I first saw the Acer Ferrari One, I thought, "Wow, what a cute little netbook!" That was, until I saw this video and realized that I was wrong from the start!

When it comes down to it, I would never buy a Ferrari One (because I have no need for another notebook computer) and there are some cons that I saw from the initial review (I will mention them below). Let me throw out my thoughts on this laptop below:

Pros:
Lightweight
*Pretty*
Multiple Screen Capabilities

Cons:
AMD Processor
Tiny screen
3GB RAM
MADE BY ACER

All in all, I wouldn't buy one just because it doesn't fit my needs. If one was looking for a laptop for web surfing, this would be the optimal laptop for them. However, keep in mind that I haven't seen the price on this yet, all I've seen is the review by Chris Pirillo. I actually haven't had time to do any research. ;)

Also, on top of that, Acer has been a terrible company for me. I had an Aspire One awhile back and it had several issues. After sending it in several times, I just decided to get rid of it and find a new computer.

Tell me what you think in the comments below. Would you buy this laptop?

My Attempts to Get on Lockergnome

Recently, I have been trying to create a screencast for the lockergnome channel on YouTube. I've re-made it almost 6 times due to one reason: my microphone is terrible. At first, I just used the cheap microphone I had. Nothing special, it just costed me about $10 at Wal-Mart. Next, I bumped it up to a nicer microphone I had around the house. Problem: popping and you could hear my breathing. Therefore, today I am going to create a homemade windscreen and try and get this video working right!

I'll keep you update. Once the video is up on the lockergnome channel, I will embed it here.

This Week in Tech News

Not sure if you knew this, but I'm about to start a new series "This Week in Tech News" on my YouTube channel. I just chose the three topics I am going to cover this week. After filming, though, I wondering if it needed something. I have yet to edit it, so I don't know how it is going to turn out. Nevertheless, I'd like to know what you want in a Tech News show. What would keep you interested?

You can Tweet Me or Dailybooth Me or E-Mail Me.

Three topics I decided to use:

My Fears on the Passed Healthcare Bill

I just wanted to make a real quick post on what I thought of the passed healthcare bill. I am very afraid of it for the main reason that almost everyone (including the senators who voted on it) don't know exactly what's in it. I am interested on what is in it and hope deeply that it is nothing life changing.

Purposely, I am not going to bring up the scary rumors I heard, I actually want your input on these and I want to hear exactly what you think. You can contact me via my several websites or leave me a comment below.

Sony Becomes a Copycat?

In recent gaming news, Sony has released an amazing new product: the PlayStation move. Due to the lack of time this morning, I did not have time to read up on this "amazing"piece of technology and only had time to skim through the article.

My only thoughts; Sony is copying Nintendo. Maybe I was right; maybe by 2020 the whole world will be motion simulated. ;)

For more information, check out the actual article here:

Sprint Brings out the Big Guns!

In a recent ad, Sprint nearly dissed AT&T's slow 3G network. Nevertheless, they created a pretty amazing product. A portable Wi-Fi hotspot. In this one simple move, they pulled all owners wifi-enabled phones, laptops, and netbooks under their target audience. If the pricing is decent, I'd actually consider buying one of these items.

Check out the advertisement from Sprint.

Best of the Internet (3/20/10)

This was a recently released video by College Humor. It made me laugh!

iPad vs. iPhone in Sales

Well, we're getting closer and closer to that incredible day with the iPad is released. When I first saw the thing, I thought, "Wow, this will be Apple's downfall," But little did I know, people said the exact same thing when the iPhone was released! And from what I've read, the amount of iPad pre-orders are immense.

Maybe I was wrong. Maybe the iPad will be the biggest thing since sliced bread.

A Different 2012 Apocalypse

Until recently, I thought that 2012 would bring some sort of nuclear apocalypse or alien attack or national flooding; that was until I saw this video. Now, I don't want to post this in order to freak people out or instill fear in your good ol' happy souls; I'm posting this to get your input. For all I know, this could be a fake or something that is so rare that we shouldn't worry about it. Really, I don't know.

Due to the almost NON-EXISTENT coverage of this with our modern media, I can almost be sure this is fake (unless they're trying to cover this up). Really though... who knows. The big worry of mine on this topic is the issue of national protection. If we loose all power, we're doomed. The missiles will fly and we will be helpless. This may be a combination of both a power-loss apocalypse and a nuclear one.

So, leave a comment with your thoughts!

New Video

Yeah, I know it's been a while since I posted anything here. I'm planning on getting back into it though.

In the meantime, check out this video I just created for Collabable. It's sure to make you excited. ;)
