Just recently, I posted a poll and kept it up for a month. My main reason to post it was to see what my readers wanted when it came to tech gadgets. The question was:
IF YOU HAD $500 TO SPEND, WHAT WOULD YOU BUY?
The answers didn't surprise me. Out of 19 votes, 10 were for the iPad, 3 were for a laptop, 3 were also for an HDTV, and 3 more were for an iPhone. It seems Apple has the upper hand with this one... again.

More recently, Apple has been getting themselves a lot of media attention. Actually, since the iPad launch several new and interesting pieces of news have arisen. There has been so much news that my newest episode of This Week in Tech News is composed of entirely Apple news pieces! It seems that everything this company produces is eaten up by consumers, media, and regular people alike.

I'm a Believer
Recently, it has been seeming that more and more companies are investing time, people, and money into producing tablets. This, of course, if due to the great success the iPad has been after launch. More and more people are probably wondering if any of these devices can even compare to the iPad.
If you ask me, none of them can. I admit it, I was one of the first to jump on the bandwagon of harsh people saying that, "This would be Apple's downfall" and "The iPad is the worst device they have ever conceived" That was... until I touched one for myself.
The moment I grabbed the iPad I realized what a great company Apple is. And, from this point on, I vow to be impartial. Both companies, Microsoft and Apple (although they're not comparable) are fantastic. I'm vowing to be fair and impartial.

iBooks: Why They Will Take Off
When I first head about iBooks in January, I was very skeptical about whether or not they would 'take off' and be a new great hit just like the App store. I predicted, when talking to one of my siblings, that, "iBooks will never take off, you can only read them on your iPad, and if you sell your iPad, what then?"
Then I watched the iPhone 4.0 event.
In one single hour, iBooks became the biggest new thing. When Steve announced that iBooks would be for iPhone and iPod Touch, I knew that they would 'take off'.
He reached out to the millions of iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users. Now everyone can partake in the amazing iBook experience! They WILL be the next big thing. And now, readers, I will begin to save for my iPad.

The Danger of Government Control of the Internet
When it comes down to it, almost every person in the world is connected to the internet in some way, shape, or form. The internet is the marvel of what democracy can do for the world. It shows that, no matter who you are or where you live, you can talk to people from thousands of miles away.
When people propose the idea of government control over the internet, it should startle you. If you didn't already know, the Free Market and Democracy has done WONDERS to products, people, news, and the way we all live our life. And now, we see what it has done on the internet. Fantastic websites that bring in billions of dollars yearly, videos showing the freedom of speech, and many other things were brought out by Democratic Internet.
With government control... we wouldn't have any of those. With government control, where is the drive to produce something that can be taken off at a moment's notice?
When someone presents the idea of government control over the internet, nip the idea in the bud. More government control would ruin us.

(Power Out of Thin Air) This Week in Tech News - 4.10.10
Well, guys, due to many reasons I will not be making a video episode of This Week in Tech News this week. However, I will cover the main topics I wanted to cover this week on this post. One of them, the first one, I have already covered previously, its the RCA AirPower. You can check out my blog post about that by clicking here.
The second thing I wanted to discuss was the new Intel Atom processor. Basically, Intel came up with a brand new Intel Atom processor. There is no bump in energy consumption and the processor speed is now 1.8Ghz instead of 1.6Ghz. Check out Engadget's post about it here.
The final topic I wanted to cover was Apple's new event this week, the release of the iPhone 4.0. There are many things that were added such as Multitasking (=D), a game center, and iAd. Many more things were added but you can watch the full event by clicking here.

Charge Your Mobile Devices with Wi-Fi
Well, people, the time has come when you can keep your devices charged using thin air. All of it is made possibly with the new RCA AirPower. Device.com said this about the devices:
"Imagine perpetual power to your cellphone, MP3 player, digital camera, pocket camcorder or other low-power portable. No more battery recharging, never again having to plug your iPhone, iPod, Flip or whatever into an AC jack. A new technology being developed by RCA, initially as an emergency power supply, may promise just that — by sucking power from Wi-Fi signals and constantly recharging the device's battery.
You read that right. RCA has discovered a way to absorb power from increasingly ubiquitous Wi-Fi signals. This may prove to be the answer to all portable power issues, forever.
The first products will be AirPower chargers, which are planned to be available by the holidays. These little pods (about the size of a flip phone) soak up residual power from any available Wi-Fi signal automatically to recharge its internal battery. Once fully charged (around five to six hours of Wi-Fi exposure), you can then recharge any low-power device via a USB connection in the same amount of time AC connections currently take. You can also use your device while AirPower charges it.
You never plug in the AirPower. Just leave it around wherever there's Wi-Fi and it takes in power without you doing anything. If you carry it around, it'll automatically suck up power as you pass through or linger in a hotspot.
How is this even possible? An RCA exec explained to me that it has something to do with regurgitating and converting the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. We'll do our best to get a more comprehensive explanation in the coming days.
Pricing has yet to be determined, but the technology isn't limited to a separate charger. RCA says the AirPower can be embedded into devices to constantly recharge their internal battery. The company didn't say if they were going to pursue embedded AirPower licensing — but they just gotta, right?"

256GB iPad?

"Toshiba — the world's No. 2 NAND flash memory maker behind Samsung according to Reuters — is preparing the next advance in flash technology with even denser memory chips (similar to the silicon wafer pictured above). The company currently products circuitry with widths of 32 and 43 nanometers, and wants to move into the 20s with 25nm chips.
Denser chips means more memory can be packed into the same-sized space. It's advances like this that are why flash drives have gone from half a gigabyte to multiple gigs over the last decade. It's not as simple as just flicking a switch, however — entire factories have to be retooled to allow for the production of more dense memory. Still, take a look at the price of a 16GB flash drive, which is roughly today's sweet spot for a well-priced thumbstick at $20-$30. As storage tech advances, larger drives will push the rest down, and you'll be able to get much more for you buck.
The new chips could arrive as early as later this year, though they probably won't be exactly 25nm, clocking in somewhere either a little wider or even a little narrow. To give you an idea of how fast this field moves, we could see sub-20nm chips as soon as 2012."
