Why Android Will Defeat iOS

In this day, there are two (maybe three) major operating systems for cellular devices. Android, iOS and some may argue the Windows 7 Phone may be rising in the ranks; however, that is a side point. I've used Android and iOS to a large degree. I owned an iPod Touch running the most recent version of iOS for several years (upgrading all the way). I never thought any other operating system could match the streamlined, sleek, and responsive iOS. I was under the impression that Apple's software was the best there was. Honestly, I was holding out my contract upgrade in order to get the iPhone for Verizon. Nonetheless, my upgrade came and I upgraded to the best smartphone I could find: the HTC Droid Incredible.

I've been using the Incredible for about a month now and have been blown away by not only the responsiveness of Android but also the customization abilities. I have shown several of my friends the features (one of them being an iPhone user, the other being an Apple fanboy) and have won them both over to my side. Why? That is the question.

As you read in the title, I believe Android will defeat iOS. Not because I hate Apple or want them to fail, but because I believe one thing opposing the switch to Android and one main thing is hindering iOS. On top of that, there is one main reason Android will defeat iOS in the long run.

The first main flaw of Apple's approach is their constant streamlining. Yes, it keeps the user experience clean and uniform but it doesn't present consumers (as well as designers) the ability to get their product out to the world and possibly shake things up a bit. If an app doesn't fall under Apple's guidelines, BAM! eliminated. If another manufacturer wants to put iOS on a device, BAM! rejected. Henry Ford once said (and I am paraphrasing here) that if someone would have asked the consumers what they would have wanted to fix about transportation, they would have said faster horses. Ford invented the car and completely redefined transportation. Why do I say this? Apple sacrifices creativity in order to gain neatness in an OS. It sounds good now, but as time goes on, people won't be as happy.

I mentioned one thing that is hindering the switch to Android. Mainly, ignorance is keeping people away. People are uniformed about the uses of Android and don't take the time to learn the system. With time, however, this problem will be solved and we shall see the blooming of the Android OS. Secondly, the one thing that I believes throws Android at the top of the pile in the long run is the fact they are open source.

Let us make another analogy for a moment: Communism versus Democracy. Communism is a big-brother driven society. Everything runs through the head and everything is either approved or denied by the head. Remind you of someone? Democracy, conversely, is run by the people and the people make the decisions. Monopoly is prohibited and ideas float on the wind.

Linux (to an extent Windows) and Android have not fallen for this reason alone. Developers, manufacturers, and consumers can all take their ideas and, over time, perfect a product. People's combined strength can accomplish much more than a board of developers.

Linux is growing (much slower than some due to its confusing nature). Windows is the #1 OS used. Android (being less than 5 years old) is just seeing the beginnings of  its long and profitable life. Google has a bright future ahead. And so do all Android users.

Android or Apple?

Hey good 'ol readers! I know it's been awhile since I posted in here! I just wanted to let you now about the new poll I have going on in the sidebar. Please answer it! I'd like to see your thoughts.

The Differences Between the Intel Core i3, i5, and i7

So, too many people have no clue what the major differences between the Core i3, i5, and i7 processors. I am not going into details, because some of those details would take much too long to write down. However, I am going to cover the main differences. So, lets just get down to it!

The Core i3 is basically a dual-core processor. I advise this processor for working with normal text documents, web surfing, and basic photo editing.

The Core i5 is, on the lower end, a dual-core processor with hyperthreading and, on the the higher end, just a quad-core processor. I advise this processor for working with photo editing, basic video editing. and gaming.

The Core i7, however, is a quad-core processor with hyperthreading. All in all, an 8-core processor. I would advise this processor for heavy photo editing, video editing, and extreme gaming. All in all, the Core i7 can handle almost anything you throw out of it.

In the end, it is really simple.

Is Radio on the Decline?

Recently, I have been questioning the future use of radio. As I cleaned this afternoon, I put together my arguments as to why radio should be here for at least three more decades. Keep in mind, I am a novice at this. Especially with radio.

First of all, I wanted to cover the argument that radio isn't digital. Which is true for most stations but as television has changed, so has radio. More and more stations are moving towards are more "digital" radio rather than the conventional radio we have lived with since the 30s.

Next, as I have been seeing; more and more companies have been making products that interact with the radio in some sort of way. For example, the 5th generation iPod Nano now has the ability to fast-forward and rewind with radio. And more and more generic mp3 players (such as the Sansa Clip) actually have the ability to record the radio.

And finally, the use of car radios to listen to your mp3 player, ipod, or phone (by use of a radio transmitter) have been on the rise in the last three years.

Radio has a promising future.

$500 to Spend

Just recently, I posted a poll and kept it up for a month. My main reason to post it was to see what my readers wanted when it came to tech gadgets. The question was:

IF YOU HAD $500 TO SPEND, WHAT WOULD YOU BUY?

The answers didn't surprise me. Out of 19 votes, 10 were for the iPad, 3 were for a laptop, 3 were also for an HDTV, and 3 more were for an iPhone. It seems Apple has the upper hand with this one... again.

Thanks for voting!

Child Rights?

Well, there has been a story lingering on my mind that I finally decided to cover. It was covered awhile back by Chris Pirillo and ever since then I have been thinking about it. I finally decided to cover it in the next episode of This Week in Tech News. Its the first story I talked about and I'd like for your input on it. Leave me a comment below or on YouTube.

Hitler's Pissed Again

It seems that nowadays, Hitler is always pissed about something. Whether its Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift, getting the wrong pizza delivered, or just the iPad not supporting multitasking. Well, thanks to yours truly, he's pissed about the iPhone 4G leak.

Apple in the News

More recently, Apple has been getting themselves a lot of media attention. Actually, since the iPad launch several new and interesting pieces of news have arisen. There has been so much news that my newest episode of This Week in Tech News is composed of entirely Apple news pieces! It seems that everything this company produces is eaten up by consumers, media, and regular people alike.

If you read my previous posts, you'll know that I am now an Apple fan. My question for you is: what makes Apple products so desirable in your mind? You can answer in the comments below or on Twitter.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Seesmic for Windows

When it comes down to it, who wants to long in and out into multiple Twitter accounts? No one wants to go through the hassle of logging in and out of multiple accounts. That is why Seesmic created their amazing application that fixes the problems of multiple accounts.

You can watch my rant here:

I'm a Believer

Recently, it has been seeming that more and more companies are investing time, people, and money into producing tablets. This, of course, if due to the great success the iPad has been after launch. More and more people are probably wondering if any of these devices can even compare to the iPad.

If you ask me, none of them can. I admit it, I was one of the first to jump on the bandwagon of harsh people saying that, "This would be Apple's downfall" and "The iPad is the worst device they have ever conceived" That was... until I touched one for myself.

The moment I grabbed the iPad I realized what a great company Apple is. And, from this point on, I vow to be impartial. Both companies, Microsoft and Apple (although they're not comparable) are fantastic. I'm vowing to be fair and impartial.

Sorry, Steve

iBooks: Why They Will Take Off

When I first head about iBooks in January, I was very skeptical about whether or not they would 'take off' and be a new great hit just like the App store. I predicted, when talking to one of my siblings, that, "iBooks will never take off, you can only read them on your iPad, and if you sell your iPad, what then?"

Then I watched the iPhone 4.0 event.

In one single hour, iBooks became the biggest new thing. When Steve announced that iBooks would be for iPhone and iPod Touch, I knew that they would 'take off'.

He reached out to the millions of iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users. Now everyone can partake in the amazing iBook experience! They WILL be the next big thing. And now, readers, I will begin to save for my iPad.

The Danger of Government Control of the Internet

When it comes down to it, almost every person in the world is connected to the internet in some way, shape, or form. The internet is the marvel of what democracy can do for the world. It shows that, no matter who you are or where you live, you can talk to people from thousands of miles away.

When people propose the idea of government control over the internet, it should startle you. If you didn't already know, the Free Market and Democracy has done WONDERS to products, people, news, and the way we all live our life. And now, we see what it has done on the internet. Fantastic websites that bring in billions of dollars yearly, videos showing the freedom of speech, and many other things were brought out by Democratic Internet.

With government control... we wouldn't have any of those. With government control, where is the drive to produce something that can be taken off at a moment's notice?

When someone presents the idea of government control over the internet, nip the idea in the bud. More government control would ruin us.

Sorry if this was a ramble. ;)

(Power Out of Thin Air) This Week in Tech News - 4.10.10

Well, guys, due to many reasons I will not be making a video episode of This Week in Tech News this week. However, I will cover the main topics I wanted to cover this week on this post. One of them, the first one, I have already covered previously, its the RCA AirPower. You can check out my blog post about that by clicking here.

The second thing I wanted to discuss was the new Intel Atom processor. Basically, Intel came up with a brand new Intel Atom processor. There is no bump in energy consumption and the processor speed is now 1.8Ghz instead of 1.6Ghz. Check out Engadget's post about it here.

The final topic I wanted to cover was Apple's new event this week, the release of the iPhone 4.0. There are many things that were added such as Multitasking (=D), a game center, and iAd. Many more things were added but you can watch the full event by clicking here.

This week's comment question is: do you think tablet PCs will overtake netbooks? You can answer in the comment section below.

So, guys, thanks for reading. I hope to have the next episode filmed. I'll make sure to get it done early in the week. Have a great day!

So, guys, thanks for reading.

Charge Your Mobile Devices with Wi-Fi

Well, people, the time has come when you can keep your devices charged using thin air. All of it is made possibly with the new RCA AirPower. Device.com said this about the devices:

"Imagine perpetual power to your cellphone, MP3 player, digital camera, pocket camcorder or other low-power portable. No more battery recharging, never again having to plug your iPhone, iPod, Flip or whatever into an AC jack. A new technology being developed by RCA, initially as an emergency power supply, may promise just that — by sucking power from Wi-Fi signals and constantly recharging the device's battery.

You read that right. RCA has discovered a way to absorb power from increasingly ubiquitous Wi-Fi signals. This may prove to be the answer to all portable power issues, forever.

The first products will be AirPower chargers, which are planned to be available by the holidays. These little pods (about the size of a flip phone) soak up residual power from any available Wi-Fi signal automatically to recharge its internal battery. Once fully charged (around five to six hours of Wi-Fi exposure), you can then recharge any low-power device via a USB connection in the same amount of time AC connections currently take. You can also use your device while AirPower charges it.

You never plug in the AirPower. Just leave it around wherever there's Wi-Fi and it takes in power without you doing anything. If you carry it around, it'll automatically suck up power as you pass through or linger in a hotspot.

How is this even possible? An RCA exec explained to me that it has something to do with regurgitating and converting the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. We'll do our best to get a more comprehensive explanation in the coming days.

Pricing has yet to be determined, but the technology isn't limited to a separate charger. RCA says the AirPower can be embedded into devices to constantly recharge their internal battery. The company didn't say if they were going to pursue embedded AirPower licensing — but they just gotta, right?"

256GB iPad?

Yes. It is possible! Now with Toshiba's new venture into denser memory chips!

More information:
"Toshiba — the world's No. 2 NAND flash memory maker behind Samsung according to Reuters — is preparing the next advance in flash technology with even denser memory chips (similar to the silicon wafer pictured above). The company currently products circuitry with widths of 32 and 43 nanometers, and wants to move into the 20s with 25nm chips.

Denser chips means more memory can be packed into the same-sized space. It's advances like this that are why flash drives have gone from half a gigabyte to multiple gigs over the last decade. It's not as simple as just flicking a switch, however — entire factories have to be retooled to allow for the production of more dense memory. Still, take a look at the price of a 16GB flash drive, which is roughly today's sweet spot for a well-priced thumbstick at $20-$30. As storage tech advances, larger drives will push the rest down, and you'll be able to get much more for you buck.

The new chips could arrive as early as later this year, though they probably won't be exactly 25nm, clocking in somewhere either a little wider or even a little narrow. To give you an idea of how fast this field moves, we could see sub-20nm chips as soon as 2012."

Creativity Explodes on Chatroulette

I'm sure that (if you are on YouTube) you have seen someone do something crazy on this newly found website Chatroulette.com. It all started with PianoChatImprov: the totally original YouTube channel with "Merton", the really gifted piano player. The idea is to play random songs to random people. It is hilarious and many many different people picked up on the idea and have made their own versions of Chatroulette hilarity!

Here is the first video then some spin-offs...

Original Video: (beware of curses)

Some spin offs:

(this one isn't very clean)

Add More Music to your iPod / iPhone

With Apple's new release of the iTunes update, anyone who owns an iPod / iPhone can now (during a sync) lower the quality of their songs to 128kbps in order to lessen their file size. To the listener, the quality isn't much different, however, the file size will almost take up half the space! The one cool thing that I liked about this was the fact that is it doesn't change your original files, the just ones syncing to the iPod. There's really nothing to loose, so go download the new version of iTunes (that was released today) and try out this new feature!

Chris Pirillo shared this on a blog post today. He explained how to enable it, "Install the update and begin your sync. Make sure to check “Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC” when you plug in your device. The sync will take longer than usual, because the application will need to convert all of the media to the new specification. You will be rewarded for the wait, though. Your iPhone or iPod will now be able to hold up to twice as many individual tracks as before."

Battalion Touch CZ-11

iBUYPOWER just released a new gaming laptop and, if it wasn't for the price, I'd be drooling all over it. Its the Battalion Touch CZ-11. As the name suggests, this is a touchscreen laptop. And on top of that, the computer features a Core i7 Processor, 4GB Memory, 500GB HDD, dedicated memory, and (get this) a full HD display (1920 x 1080) all with multitouch technology! The price starts at $1100 and rises from there.

Tumblr

I caved yet again.

After seeing Tumblr everywhere, I decided to get one. All my sites are synced to it!

You can see my blog there by clicking here!

Formspring.me

Last night, while browsing a bit, I found an interesting website called Formspring. Basically, its a website where you can ask anyone… anything (anonymously or not). I had heard of it before, but never really took the time to check it out. So, I created an account, and want to keep it. So, if you are interested in asking me any sort of question, just check out my profile by clicking here.

Windows Live Writer

Well, I’ve officially made the jump back to using Windows Live Writer. I’m not sure how long I will keep up writing here, but I will try it out for the time being. If you haven’t heard of Windows Live Writer, you should check it out. Its an application that easily updates your blog for you. Honestly, it makes things much simpler.

Revolutionary MSI Netbook

I'm not sure if you've been following the news recently, however the new MSI Wind netbook that was just released is almost revolutionary. Its got the standard netbook specs: Intel atom, 10.1" screen, costs around $350. However, this netbook has something that no other netbooks on the market has! An (advertised) 15 hour battery. When I read that, I was like "NO WAY" that was, until I read Dvice's thoughts on the topic, "With our constant use, that didn't seem possible unless we kept the screen dimmed way down and let it sleep most of the time, but we did get a good 7 to 8 hours' worth of use before the battery fizzled. Even though that's less time than advertised, it's remarkable — long enough to get a day's work done."

All in all, this device is almost revolutionary. And if you are still interested in it and want to read more, you can find the original article here.

iPad Camera

As soon as the iPad was released, people all around the world were fuming about the lack of a camera or SD card reader in the iPad. Finally, Apple released a solution (even though it is a crummy one).

The USB and SD card plug-ins for the iPad. Priced at around $29, this solution seems "helpful"? Nevertheless, as Engadet puts it, "Of course, one could easily argue that the iPad should have native support for both of these widely used formats without forcing users to lug around two extra peripherals, but if that were the case, this thing just wouldn't be an Apple, now would it?"

You can purchase your own here.

iPhone 4G

Well, as time ticks on and life moves on we continue to get closer and closer to the release of the iPhone 4G. And, as time goes on, peoples opinions change. Nevertheless, I was meandering around Cnet today and found this list of the the top 25 most wanted features in the iPhone 4G.

(Candy Laptops) This Week in Tech News - 3.27.10

Well, my first episode of This Week in Tech News is finally out and, yes, it isn't very impressive. I hope to get better as time goes on and next week (if I'm not sick), the episode should be much better. Nonetheless, through the show I covered three interesting topics: the PlayStation Move, the new Sony Vaio E Series, and the Samsung n150s.

I embedded the video below. I hope you like it! Feel free to rate comment and subscribe to LordRehan!

Thank you for watching!

Appreciation

Tonight I spent my night doing something I thought I'd never enjoy... going to the symphony. As I sat there,
I realized that I was going to graduate really soon and that would be the last time I would be there. As I continued thinking, I came upon a sudden realization: I stress too much.

I decided that (from that moment on) I was not going to overlook the finer things in life. I decided that, no matter how bleak, I'd make it my goal to see the "silver lining".

This was such a great realization that I hoped to share it with you. Life is too short to stress about. We need to appreciate the finer things in life.  :)

Tech Videos

If you read this blog regularly, you should know that I often embed tech related videos into my posts. Just recently, I decided that I wanted to share a link with you all however (at the time) I wasn't up for making a blog post. At that moment, the idea came to me to create a specific webpage where I post tech related videos and real quick summaries of them.

The new website is LordRehanVids. If you follow me on Twitter, you should see random links to videos from there. I just did a redesign of the page layout. It looks much better.

Check it out!

3D Television

Well, 3D television is finally here. Today, the first Samsung rechargeable 3D glasses went up for pre-order on Amazon. Starting at around $150, you can watch television in fashion with these babies. ;)

How to Make Money on the Internet

Even though I don't consider myself an expert in these things, I decided to write a Squidoo lens on the topic of making money on the internet. Who knows? It may get popular!

I plan to outline three main points; Create, Promote, Maintain. These there points will be shown in detail and will hopefully show one of the readers my exact way of making money on the internet.

When it is finished, I will post a link up on my blog or my Twitter account.

Sony Vaio E Series

Well, I just recently saw a picture of the new Sony Vaio line and BOY! am I impressed with the looks they brought forth! Not only are the Sony Vaio computers great computers when it comes to quality and durability, now Sony has expanded their arm of market reach to a whole new set of customers. I know the prices of the Vaios are the best (over $800 for a Core i3), their quality is sure to last you (and now) you'll be stylish as well.

Our Current Situation

Alright guys, I know this isn't tech related, nevertheless, I wanted to share this video with you. No matter who you are: democrat or republican, this video should make you a little scared.

FYI, I agree with all the things this man said. We need to take the steps he is laying out as soon as Obama leaves office.

Here's the video:

Computer Microphones?

Well, I have come to a very sad realization. The realization that, unless I can find a better computer microphone, I will probably not be able to make a screencast for Chris Pirillo. On top of that, I am broke. I will be saving in hopes that I can get a nice microphone, however, in the meantime, I need ideas and suggestions.

Do you guys know of any cheap, effective microphones? If so, please contact me.

My Thoughts on the Acer Ferrari One

When I first saw the Acer Ferrari One, I thought, "Wow, what a cute little netbook!" That was, until I saw this video and realized that I was wrong from the start!

When it comes down to it, I would never buy a Ferrari One (because I have no need for another notebook computer) and there are some cons that I saw from the initial review (I will mention them below). Let me throw out my thoughts on this laptop below:

Pros:
Lightweight
*Pretty*
Multiple Screen Capabilities

Cons:
AMD Processor
Tiny screen
3GB RAM
MADE BY ACER

All in all, I wouldn't buy one just because it doesn't fit my needs. If one was looking for a laptop for web surfing, this would be the optimal laptop for them. However, keep in mind that I haven't seen the price on this yet, all I've seen is the review by Chris Pirillo. I actually haven't had time to do any research. ;)

Also, on top of that, Acer has been a terrible company for me. I had an Aspire One awhile back and it had several issues. After sending it in several times, I just decided to get rid of it and find a new computer.

Tell me what you think in the comments below. Would you buy this laptop?

My Attempts to Get on Lockergnome

Recently, I have been trying to create a screencast for the lockergnome channel on YouTube. I've re-made it almost 6 times due to one reason: my microphone is terrible. At first, I just used the cheap microphone I had. Nothing special, it just costed me about $10 at Wal-Mart. Next, I bumped it up to a nicer microphone I had around the house. Problem: popping and you could hear my breathing. Therefore, today I am going to create a homemade windscreen and try and get this video working right!

I'll keep you update. Once the video is up on the lockergnome channel, I will embed it here.

This Week in Tech News

Not sure if you knew this, but I'm about to start a new series "This Week in Tech News" on my YouTube channel. I just chose the three topics I am going to cover this week. After filming, though, I wondering if it needed something. I have yet to edit it, so I don't know how it is going to turn out. Nevertheless, I'd like to know what you want in a Tech News show. What would keep you interested?

You can Tweet Me or Dailybooth Me or E-Mail Me.

Three topics I decided to use:

My Fears on the Passed Healthcare Bill

I just wanted to make a real quick post on what I thought of the passed healthcare bill. I am very afraid of it for the main reason that almost everyone (including the senators who voted on it) don't know exactly what's in it. I am interested on what is in it and hope deeply that it is nothing life changing.

Purposely, I am not going to bring up the scary rumors I heard, I actually want your input on these and I want to hear exactly what you think. You can contact me via my several websites or leave me a comment below.

Sony Becomes a Copycat?

In recent gaming news, Sony has released an amazing new product: the PlayStation move. Due to the lack of time this morning, I did not have time to read up on this "amazing"piece of technology and only had time to skim through the article.

My only thoughts; Sony is copying Nintendo. Maybe I was right; maybe by 2020 the whole world will be motion simulated. ;)

For more information, check out the actual article here:

Sprint Brings out the Big Guns!

In a recent ad, Sprint nearly dissed AT&T's slow 3G network. Nevertheless, they created a pretty amazing product. A portable Wi-Fi hotspot. In this one simple move, they pulled all owners wifi-enabled phones, laptops, and netbooks under their target audience. If the pricing is decent, I'd actually consider buying one of these items.

Check out the advertisement from Sprint.

Best of the Internet (3/20/10)

This was a recently released video by College Humor. It made me laugh!

iPad vs. iPhone in Sales

Well, we're getting closer and closer to that incredible day with the iPad is released. When I first saw the thing, I thought, "Wow, this will be Apple's downfall," But little did I know, people said the exact same thing when the iPhone was released! And from what I've read, the amount of iPad pre-orders are immense.

Maybe I was wrong. Maybe the iPad will be the biggest thing since sliced bread.

A Different 2012 Apocalypse

Until recently, I thought that 2012 would bring some sort of nuclear apocalypse or alien attack or national flooding; that was until I saw this video. Now, I don't want to post this in order to freak people out or instill fear in your good ol' happy souls; I'm posting this to get your input. For all I know, this could be a fake or something that is so rare that we shouldn't worry about it. Really, I don't know.

Due to the almost NON-EXISTENT coverage of this with our modern media, I can almost be sure this is fake (unless they're trying to cover this up). Really though... who knows. The big worry of mine on this topic is the issue of national protection. If we loose all power, we're doomed. The missiles will fly and we will be helpless. This may be a combination of both a power-loss apocalypse and a nuclear one.

So, leave a comment with your thoughts!

Novel Introduction

Good morning my avid readers. In advance, I am going to apologize for not posting in my blog for so long. However, after a late night of writing last night, I have decided to post the opening paragraphs of my novel. My prologue is about 7,200 words and is split into three parts. The whole first chapter is history, something made just to introduce the reader into the world of Ursadona. My main character is in the first chapter, but in a way you wouldn't expect. However, without further ado, here is part one of the prologue of Heir.

Like a stream of ice, the frigid north winds, carrying the scent of fiery sulfur, blew across the Bregoa Ausa like a whisper in the night. They carried the scent of smoldering Aridia. That land, depending on who was speaking, had many names, A Light in a Dark World, the Deceiver’s Spine, or Slopeside Utopia. Nonetheless, through all the lies and eloquent names, the Rebellion did not believe a tinge of the Deceiver’s mendacity. No matter what the world told them, they knew shadow lay there, budding in influence and potency, soon threatening to take the last bit of remaining Light. Thousands of years had come and gone. Nothing in the entire history of Ursadona had ever seen this bleak. “How had it come to this?” was the question on many lips.
The frigid north winds caused elf-kind Linaea Chosen to shiver. Her spine stung with a cold sensation, the sensation of the Lifestream coursing through her veins. She was aware that her consciousness had been dreaming.
As her head rose from its slumber, dreams—visions—memories from the night passed filled her newly refreshed and waking mind. She examined the surrounding landscape of murky oil stained water, evil and withering river plants covered in dark green sludge, and a massive black volcano smoking off in the distance like a factory of deceit.
“How could anyone believe such a palpable lie?” Linaea wondered.
Just a decade ago, after being constantly questioned on why he would dwell on an evil volcano, the Deceiver, Esis Ra’bok, the enemy of the Rebellion, said in a speech, “Power is the Black Mountain! The Black Mountain is power! Thus, we dwell on, around, and with power!” His lies were applauded with insane clapping. The people listening actually believed his words. Furthermore, they believed him.
But even through the lies, the wind blew by, carrying the muffled song of nature perverted by the sounds of metal adorned whips, wooden-handled hammers of twisted iron, demonically reverberating goblic growls, and, worst of all, the aberrant, wraithlike moaning of living corpses. Adding to the mood generated by the evil noises, the sun was blocked out by the ever-writhing clouds of smoke from the Black Mount, causing eternal twilight to fall on the fjord of the Bregoa Ausa and beyond, spreading into the provinces of Draugr, North Illusion, and the elven province named the Aezwain.
Discarding the feelings of her surrounding environment and trembling with racking excitement, Linaea located a long, dry piece of parchment from her trusty patchwork sack. Spreading the tan paper onto the hard, rock-strewn ground, she quickly scratched these words in the ornate, squiggly runes of the Tree Elves,

With his mighty hand, we will rise again,
With his mighty hand, we will destroy the Deceiver,
With his mighty hand, we will deliver,
As the heir rises again,

On the back of a beast he will emerge,
With the power of Aphiel he will conquer,
Shields will be shattered, swords will be bent,
As the heir rises again,

From the bloodline of gold, he will rule,
From the bloodline of gold, the Deceiver will scatter,
From the bloodline of gold, we will rescue,
As the heir rises again,

Linaea’s pen fell suddenly. It had been written.
With those strong and powerful words scribbled, she sighed with a beautiful contentment. Tranquility, like a blanket of divine warmth, fell upon her essence. Now she knew that, someday in the future, the shrouding darkness of Aridia would be eternally dispelled and Light would once again brightly shine for all races to see. She knew that the thousands—maybe millions of deceived elves, men, dwarves, nemose, and goblins, would all be delivered from the clever, wicked lies of the Deceiver. With the contentment shrouding Linaea’s mind, she laid back down smiling and fell back into her trance, not to awaken for another week. Prophecies would play over her eyes for days with her pale face covered in eternal twilight.
